The Brabant killers, also named the ‘Bende van Nijvel‘ in Dutch-speaking media, and ‘Les Tueurs fous du Brabant ‘ in French-speaking media, are believed to be responsible for a series of violent and shocking attacks that mainly occurred in the Belgian province of Brabant between 1982 and 1985. A total of 28 people died and 22 were seriously injured. Belgian Justice did not succeed in finding the killers despite 35 years of investigation. The Minister of Justice admitted in 2018 that the investigation had been manipulated. In fall 2017 founding partner Geert G.R. Lenssens was contacted by a new key witness who confirmed that his brother, a former policeman, confessed just before dying to be member of the gang and knowing all its members. SQ protected the interests of the witness and his family, took care of the crisis communication and assisted during all legal procedures. The investigation is still going on.
