Aviation law

SQ has a significant international aviation practice that includes representation of domestic and foreign companies engaged in air transport.

We represent major European airlines and international airlines handling companies for which we provide aircraft insurance legal advice, European labour and regulatory advice, and financial and corporate assistance.

We also represent manufacturers and lenders in connection with the acquisition, disposition and operation of commercial aircraft, including purchase, lease and charter, as well as financing for such transactions.

SQ Law has consolidated experience with registration and de-registration of aircraft and has assisted Italian and foreign carriers in their contacts with the Italian Aviation Authority (ENAC) to simplify registration and de-registration procedures.

In addition SQ Law assists carriers in obtaining their operating license and in managing aviation accidents (cases of particular interest include the Cermis accident, Cavalese 1998; SiFly accident, Pristina 1999; Pia accident, Katmandu 1992; Banatair accident, Verona 1995).
